COPPER: Peru's production decelerates in June
Peru saw its copper output fall month-on-month in June. Production was almost flat compared to the same month in 2020, Kallanish notes.
The latest report by Peru’s mines and energy ministry Minem shows that copper production dropped by 6.8% m-o-m to 182,705 tonnes in June. This volume, which was just 1% more y-o-y, was supported by improved extraction by Compañía Minera Antamina (7.4%) and Minera Las Bambas (2.8%).
