COPPER: Kamoa-Kakula Phase 2 expansion ahead of schedule
Canada-based Ivanhoe Mines says its Phase 2 expansion at the Kamoa-Kakula copper mines in the Democratic Republic of the Congo is ahead of schedule and on track to begin full operations in second quarter 2022, Kallanish reports.
That expansion will double production to more than 400,000 tonnes/year of copper, and the operations will begin one quarter earlier than had been previously announced.
