COPPER: Hudbay Minerals closes 777 Mine in Manitoba after 18 years
Hudbay Minerals says mining activities have ended at its 777 Mine in Flin Flon, Manitoba, and closure activities are underway, Kallanish reports.
The copper-zinc-gold-silver mine was shut down after the reserves were depleted following 18 years of steady production, the Ontario-based says. Employees and equipment are being shifted to the company’s Lalor gold-copper-zinc-silver mine that is being ramped up in Snow Lake, Manitoba.
