CME Group is said to be planning the launch of a nickel contract using prices gathered from a new platform under development by the UK’s Global Commodities Holdings (GCH).
Citing three unnamed sources with knowledge of the matter, Reuters reported that CME and GCH have been in talks about this project “for some months.” Prices from the new platform would be used to create an index, which would be used to settle CME futures, Kallanish notes.
