BYD on track to challenge Tesla after 98% increase in April sales
Chinese carmaker BYD saw its April electric vehicle sales rise 98.3% on-year, maintaining the momentum to potentially reach a sales target of 4 million NEVs this year, Kallanish reports.
The world’s largest NEV manufacturer sold 210,295 electric cars last month. Of that, 104,364 were battery electric models (BEVs) and 105,103 were plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs). This represents annual growth rates of 81.8% and 118.6%, respectively.
