BYD tops December, 2021 Chinese NEV production
BYD leads in a comprehensive tally of December and full-year 2021 auto production in the Chinese market.
In December 2021, BYD's sold 92,823 new energy vehicles, an on-year increase of 236.4%. In 2021, BYD sold 593,745 new energy passenger cars, an on-year increase of 231.6%. Of the total new energy passenger car sales, 320,810 were electric vehicles equipped with blade batteries, accounting for 54.03%. The remaining 272,935 units were hybrid models with the DM technologies, accounting for 45.97% of the total sales. In 2021, BYD's total passenger car sales amounted to 730,093 - therefore, the yearly new energy passenger car sales accounted for 81.32% of the total yearly passenger car sales.
A breakdown of available information from other Chinese auto market participants shows:
XPeng's December deliveries totaled 16,000 units, an on-year increase of 181%. Of the December deliveries, the P7 model took 7,459 units and the P5 model took 5,030 units. For 2021, the total was 98,155, an on-year increase of 263%, Kallanish learns.
Li One, the only model under Li Auto, delivered 14,087 units in December, an on-year increase of 130%. Full-year deliveries were 90,491, an on-year increase of 177.4%.
NIO delivered 10,489 units in December, an on-year increase of 49.7%. The total delivery volume of 2021 was 91,429 units, an on-year increase of 109.1%.
Hozon's Neta Auto delivered 10,127 new cars in December, an on-year increase of 236%. The total delivery volume of 2021 was 69,674 units, an on-year increase of 362%.
Leap Motor delivered 7,807 new cars during the month, an on-year increase of 368% and on-month increase of 39%. The total delivery volume in 2021 was 43,121 units.
Weltmeister delivered 5,062 new cars in December. The total delivery volume of 2021 was 44,157, an on-year increase of 96.3%.
Zeekr, a high-end new energy brand of Geely Auto, delivered 3,796 units in December, an on-year increase of 88.7%.
In December, Dongfeng's Voyah delivered 3,330 units of its first model, Voyah Free, an on-month increase of 192%.
In 2021, the total sales of SAIC's NEVs reached 161,000 units, an on-year increase of 107%.
