BMW Group begins battery recycling partnership in China
BMW Group will recycle nickel, lithium and cobalt from high-voltage batteries in China through a partnership with a local recycler, the company said on Wednesday.
The closed loop solution reached through its joint venture with Brilliance, BMW Brilliance Automotive (BBA), will process batteries from fully and partially-electric development vehicles, test systems and production rejects. The aim is to start recycling end-of-life batteries at a later stage.
