German carmaker BMW Group said Monday it has no plans to build its own battery cells manufacturing facilities and will continue to source cells from leading manufacturers, Kallanish reports.
Instead, the company plans to optimise cell production processes regarding quality, output and costs. This will be done at the Cell Manufacturing Competence Centre (CMCC) in Parsdorf, outside Munich from late 2022.
