BHP lowers nickel production guidance for FY23
Global miner BHP has revised down its nickel production guidance for the 2023 financial year to between 75,000-85,000t, from the previous 80,000-90,000t, due to wet weather, Kallanish notes.
Nickel West production was in line with the prior period at 58,000t for the nine months period ended 31 March. The ramp up of the refinery following planned maintenance in the December 2022 quarter was offset by the increased proportion of concentrate and matte products.…
