Battery storage planned at razed New Jersey coal-fired plant

New Jersey’s last coal-fired power plant has been demolished, and the site will be turned into a $1 billion battery storage project to store electricity from wind and solar, Kallanish reports. The Logan Generating Station that began service in 1994 was imploded last Friday in ceremonies at Swedesboro, New Jersey, by owner Starwood Energy.
