Battery prices could rise 15% if mineral prices remain at Q1 levels: IEA
Battery pack prices could become 15% more expensive than they were last year if metal prices remain as high as in the first quarter of 2022, the International Energy Agency (IEA) said Monday.
According to the Global Electric Vehicle Outlook 2022 (GEVO2022), the forecast comes from high raw materials prices such as cobalt, nickel and lithium. The latter has recorded a seven-fold increase in May, compared to the start of 2021.
