Aurubis to decarbonise copper processing with hydrogen

German-based Aurubis, the world’s largest copper recycler, plans to decarbonise its Hamburg copper smelter using hydrogen, through a collaboration with Finland’s Metso. The Finnish company said on Friday Aurubis wants to invest in hydrogen-ready anode furnaces at its copper processing plant in Germany.
