Anglo American to focus on copper, divest nickel business
Anglo American revealed on Tuesday a plan to speed up shareholder value from its portfolio, focusing on copper, premium iron ore and crop nutrients.
Though the strategy to have a “radically simplified portfolio” places great importance on copper assets, it does not consider nickel a viable business to pursue. The London-based miner says it’s exploring options for care and maintenance and divestment of its nickel assets.
